Four departments and a family of activities — all working towards one vision: a community where women and girls live free from violence, discrimination and poverty.
Each department concentrates expertise on a front of the struggle — and they collaborate on every major campaign.
Women
The flagship of ACP. The Women Department organises grassroots women in Ajegunle for awareness, education and economic empowerment — from sensitisation on gender-based violence to the Women Skill Acquisition Centre and micro-credit support.
Youth
The Youth Department engages young people of Ajegunle with education, life-skills and leadership programmes — building a generation that rejects violence and discrimination and participates actively in civic life.
Research
Evidence drives advocacy. The department documents the realities of women and girls in urban slum communities, publishes newsletters and reports, and produces learning materials that inform ACP’s campaigns.
Legal
Access to justice for poor women is at the heart of ACP’s mission. The Legal Department provides free legal aid, counselling and referral services to women and girls whose rights have been violated.
Hands-on vocational training in tailoring, catering, hairdressing and crafts — paired with business skills so graduates can earn their own income.
Theatre performed in markets, motor parks and street corners — opening honest conversations about gender-based violence, child abuse and HIV/AIDS stigma.
Community research, case documentation, newsletters and the ACP e-book — evidence that powers our advocacy and campaigns.
Small, managed credit facilities that help women turn acquired skills into sustainable self-employment and small businesses.
